3-Lakes-Round

The 3-lake circuit starts in an idyllic setting at the Kurparkweiher pond in Weiskirchen. From here, the route follows the Holzbach stream past the Marien Grotto in the direction of Konfeld. Through an open meadow landscape, the tour passes a favourite place of the Saarschleifenland, the Marienverehrungskapelle in the cemetery forest between Wadern and Weiskirchen. Through a forest passage, you reach the leisure centre around the Noswendeler See lake. Even though Lake Noswendel is not a bathing lake, there are plenty of places to linger around the lake. A trip on a pedalo is a welcome change on the cycle tour. The refreshments organised by the local heritage and tourist office by the lake are also inviting - especially on Sundays, when the large cake buffet is served.

The route continues past the wine beach at the Schwarzrindersee lakes in the direction of Weierweiler. The smallest district of the municipality of Weiskirchen is still characterised by agriculture. Many farmhouses adorn the small townscape. The route leads through the Saar-Hunsürck Nature Park village across an open landscape to Münchweiler Castle. The baroque residence was built between 1752 and 1785 according to plans by Imperial Baron Franz Georg Zant von Merl and has now been in the family for eight generations. Today it houses a hotel and café. An audio guide, which can be accessed via QR codes, explains the history and special features of the impressive complex at 17 stations.

Behind Münchweiler Castle, the tour runs along the Losheim stream past the Dellborn Mill to Niederlosheim. A detour to the "Backmol" is worthwhile here. Traditional baking methods, the bakery's own recipes and a glass bakery bring the bakery to life. The route continues via Niederlosheim to the centre of Losheim am See. The museum railway at the station is a highlight for railway fans. From the centre, the route leads up to the Losheim reservoir. Around the lake, a number of leisure and recreational facilities such as the brewery invite you to take a longer break.

The route leads through forests, meadows and fields via Mitlosheim and Rappweiler back to the starting point in Weiskirchen. You can end the 3-Lakes-Round in a relaxed atmosphere in the perennial garden by the spa pond, in the Haus des Gastes or in the beer garden of the Parkhotel.
