Saar-Hunsrück Climb – 06. Stage: Weiskirchen – Steinberg – Reidelbach – Grimburgerhof

From Weiskirchen, the route climbs slowly. After passing 6 bridges, we reach the secluded forest pond “Herberloch”, which is surrounded by a rock face. The next highlight is the Wahnbachtal nature reserve, a wild valley that is completely left to nature. The path is designed so that we can fully enjoy the beauty of this unique landscape. After a few kilometers in the forest, we experience a picture-book landscape with open meadows and beautiful views near Reidelbach.

After that, the route goes through another brook valley, past a few ponds and up to the heights near Wadrill. There, the secluded Hochwaldalm with its mountain meadows will inspire you. You can take a hearty break in the alpine hut. Above the alpine hut, you can enjoy beautiful views and then descend through a side valley of the Wadrill to the stage destination of Grimburgerhof, a small town below Grimburg.

The Saar-Hunsrück Climb is a trail close to nature, with 65% of the trail leading over soft forest floors, grassy paths or along streams. However, this special quality can also lead to problems after long periods of rain, making parts of the trail difficult to walk on. That is why sturdy shoes are highly recommended.
