Hiking with a hammock in Weiskirchen
Hiking with a hammock is part of the "TO STAY" campaign of the Saarland Tourist Board and is an alternative to the "to go" lifestyle. Hanging out is possible at the designated dangling stations on selected premium hiking trails. The dangling stations are labelled with the "Saarland TO STAY" logo and are located in the Saarland Tours app as rest areas on the corresponding hiking trails. With a breathtaking view over the Rotwildgehe, picturesque at the Herberloch or dreamlike in the municipality of Perl, nature can be enjoyed to the full.
The hammock is rolled up in a small banana-shaped carrying bag and weighs 500 grams. Not much for an open-air bed that can carry up to 180 kilograms. Parachute silk, ropes and snap hooks are quickly unpacked. The suspension is really simple and has a tree-friendly suspension system. At the hire stations, you will receive all the necessary information on how to use the hammock, how to hang it up and the locations of the tried and tested dangling stations. The hammocks are available for a deposit of 20 euros. The maximum hire period is 72 hours.
